WHS Wins Varsity Championship

WHS wins a tough hard fought battle against Leo Hayes, thanks to a powerful performance by Jordan Irvine with 28 points, who dominated inside and outside, along with handling the ball up and down the court.

Final Score 78-68

WHS Varsity Girls Win!

The WHS Varsity Girls are the 2009 Thunder Valley Classic Champions, after beating CNHS 50 to 45.

KVHS JV Boys win Championship

The JV Boys champions from this year are the KVHS Crusaders, in their 80 to 64 win over the St. Stephen Spartans.

We were able to speak with KVHS player, Ryan Foster, who was the JV Boys OFFENSIVE MVP.

FHS wins JV Girls Championship

Congratulations to FHS JV Girls Black Cats on their win in the JV Girls Championship. Player of the game for the Black Cats was Julie O’Donnell, and for the Trojans was Eibhlin Storey.

WHS wins over FHS in Semi-Final

A CRAZY game between FHS and WHS, in the 9:00pm semi-final at WHS. Woodstock was down by 17 in the second half, but thanks to an unbelievable shooting effort by Scott Anderson from behind the arc, paralleled by an unstoppable midrange game by Ross Kinney, WHS went on a 50 to 6 scoring run to bring them ahead by 27 points at one point, and ending with a 90 to 66 win. Jeff O’donnell was on fire from behind the arc all game, hitting well over 5 3 pointers, and unfaltering defense. Mazurkawicz had a strong game as well, but Bielecki got into some early foul trouble. Jordan Irvine was big under the boards, but Player of the Game BILLY DELONG was the true fire from all over the floor. His undying endurance and emotional playing sparked the dormant Thunder to wake up and slash through the FHS lead. Delong was unstoppable on the boards, while his strong finishes allowed him to convert on some 3-point plays. Kinney also was strong, as he held his composure and did not falter under the FHS pressure.

WHS plays LEO hayes at the Woodstock High school tomorrow at 4:00 pm in the championship.
